Libel cases worth following

There have been some interesting libel cases in the news lately which may be worth checking out. The Andrew Mitchell plebgate trial is ongoing. Try to follow it to see how the two sides try to prove their case.

This piece in The Guardian is interesting. TheSun’s lawyers are clearly aiming to show insight into Mitchell’s character by raising previous cases in which he is said to have been rude to police.

Another case is rumbling on between The Daily Mail and a businessman Andy Miller. Costs are estimated to be reaching £3million.

Another case which finished in October concerned a foreign doctor and columnist Kelvin MacKenzie.
