Think about why you are interviewing that person. What do you want them to tell you?

  1. Google them.
  2. Talk to someone who knows them.
  3. If the interview is being set up via a press office or an agent, ask for a biography or a CV. Or ask for some background information.
  4. If you are interviewing them about an issue, be sure you are well-briefed on it.
  5. If it helps, write the questions down in advance but don’t follow them like a script. You need to listen to what they say and follow the conversation. Have the questions on hand for emergencies or to check at the end.
